Now this is what I call lunch! Just a small sampling of the delicious food at the all new Lucky Liu’s Chinese Restaurant in downtown San Diego.
Any restaurant with an entire section of the menu dedicated to “Grandma’s Secrets” is my kind of place!
I must start with my favorite dish. The Orange Chicken. O-M-Orange-Heaven!!! It’s sweet, crispy and seriously amazing!
Next up, the “Beef Chow Fun” a noodle bowl filled with fun for your mouth Stir fried beef, been sprouts, sweet onions, scallions and soy sauce are tossed with flat rice noodles in this delicious dish.
Now let’s take it back a couple steps to the appetizers. I started with the Cream Cheese Crab Wontons, yummy! But watch out for the sauce on the right, yeah that’s Chinese Hot Mustard…. and HOT it is!
I also started with a couple of Pork & Shrimp Pot Stickers, because you can’t start a Chinese meal without a delicious order of Pot Stickers!
Moving back to the main courses (of which I had 5!) let’s talk about the Honey-Glazed Walnut Shrimp. Yes, you read that right, and yes, it is as phenomenal as it sounds!
Their Kung Pao Chicken is a flavorful, traditional Chinese dish.
Then from their “Some Dim Sum” menu, we have the Sugar Cane Shrimp. Shrimp coated in panko, fried and served on real sugar canes, so much fun and so yum!
And last, but definitely not least, the Salt and Pepper Calamari tossed with garlic and jalapeños. Once again, watch out for that hot mustard, I’m not kidding, it’s HOT!
They have a convenient Take-Out door on the side of the restaurant to pick up your favorite chinese dish with ease!
Lucky Liu’s is located at 332 J Street, San Diego, CA 92101 and open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Be sure and go visit soon for really delicious Chinese food!
